Is he really a grumpy old man just waiting to die? No, I don't think he was. I think that through The Whitsun Weddings, he is really just reflecting. He often gives us the idea that loneliness isn't always a bad thing. Being on your own gives you time to stop and think about things. About your life. I personally really like this idea.

The Whitsun Weddings- an overview
Larkin's collection The Whitsun Weddings is obviously a very good bit of poetry.

"Doctor Sleep" I AM VERY EXCITED!!
I heard a couple of days ago that one of my favourite authors has finally written a sequel to one of my favourite books of all time; The Shining. It's basically going to follow "Danny-boy", now an adult, who now works in a care-home using his powers to help dying people die peacefully where he meets a little girl who also has the Shining. It's going to have scary vampire thingies in it and if it sounds like I'm rambling, that is just my excitement escaping.
The sequel will be called Doctor Sleep and is going to be released on the 24th.
I wonder how long it'll be before the college library gets a couple of copies... (note to self- ask Pam)

First Post- Lord of the Rings (Specifically Tom Bombadil and how great he is)
Well, after a night of writing an essay for Law I don't think there's much better than to sit down with a good book. I've finally managed to get my hands on a copy of the Lord of the Rings trilogy so this should keep me quiet during my time in between college work. I'm pretty sure my favourite character in any book ever now has to be Tom Bombadil because he's just so crazy and all over the place. I love how he skips around everywhere singing nonsense to himself and everyone just loves him.
